For this activity we are going to watch the film text, The Gift and then unpack how it was made for an audience. We will investigate and unpack the code and conventions employed in this Psychological Thriller to ensure the audience is entertained and confused as the narrative and themes unfold.

You will all then watch the trailer below to get an understanding of how the film text was intended and expected to be decoded by the audience.

Your job will be to REVAMP the trailer using Premiere Pro or Movie Maker and change the genre and or themes of this movie trailer. You can do this in a variety of ways:

• Replace the Score
• Cut scenes and or Delete and Replace scenes
• Change the point of view to another character
